Nursing Notions™ LLC came into existence the same way most small businesses do ~ to fulfill a need.

Between the birth of my 2nd and 3rd child, I became educated on the benefits of breastfeeding. I made the decision to give nursing a try. My nursing relationship with my son was fairly easy from the beginning and we ran into very few problems. . . .except one; I was so tired and with two other children, a household to run, I was always forgetting which side my son last nursed on. I needed to find something to help me remember.

I tried a rubber band, but it would either pull out the hair on my arms (ouch) or snap me. And it didn't look all that attractive. My Aunt told me that she used a diaper pin pinned to her bra as a reminder, but I knew better than to try that. With my lack of sleep, I knew I would have stabbed myself numerous times.

My daughter had a bracelet made of a stretchy cord that I thought would be perfect, until I tried it on and realized the beads were stabbing me and it would be uncomfortable to sleep with. I shopped around local stores trying to find what I could see in my mind, but to no avail.

Since I have always been artsy, and have made a lot of items over the years, I decided I would make my own bracelet. I received a lot of compliments from friends and other nursing mothers over my reminder bracelet. At the urging of friends and family, I opened Nursing Notions™, LLC.

What started with that one bracelet has blossomed into an online store where nursing mothers can find products to help foster a successful nursing relationship. Most of the items that are available through Nursing Notions™ cannot be found at local retailers.
